How To Pronounce French Rose Names ...as noted by the American Rose Society! Order Your Copy Here
I received my copy of HOW TO PRONOUNCE FRENCH ROSE NAMES, yesterday. I've anxiously awaited it's arrival since I ordered a copy from you at the Texas Heirloom Rose Foundation meeting at the Antique Rose Emporium this past October. I knew I could use some help with all those tongue twisters! I read it cover to cover that night, pronouncing each name several times as I read. It was so easy to use....simple and direct, and not at all cryptic. I am absolutely delighted with your book. I feel as if a veil had been lifted from my eyes! This is the book that all of us rose lovers needed, but never realized that we did. I have to say that it was a great inspiration on your part. I'll definitely spread the word. Thanks! Warm Regards, A Trip to Texas Rose Paradise If you are looking for a full bouquet of garden delights, gardening education, good food and fun, then you won't want to miss an event like this one! Hosted by The Antique Rose Emporium in Brenham Texas, the "Fall Festival of Roses" in November 2002, was a full bouquet indeed. Extensive knowledge was shared by noted speakers from around the globe, and included such gardening luminaries as Malcolm Manners, Felder Rushing, Mel Hulse, Susan Wittig Albert, Ethne Clarke, Carrie Nimmer and Frank Arnosky. I also enjoyed the presentation by Rosamund Wallinger, who has restored the breathtaking historic Gertrude Jekyll rose garden in Hampshire, England. This is a "work in progress" for her, I am sure. Antique Rose Emporium's own Glenn Schroeter also gave a very helpful presentation on "Propagating your own roses". He has been Production Manager since 1990 and oversees the propagation of over 250,000 antique roses and perennials. My head was spinning with information and inspiration as these authors, designers and gardeners shared their stories and magnificent slide photographs of some of the most beautiful gardens and landscapes I have ever seen. A vast range of challenging climate and soil conditions were represented and discussed, but the recurring theme was to simply have fun, be creative, and keep trying. Did I mention have fun? Michael Shoup and his professional staff made things look easy. This was no small event, lasting a full three days, and their hospitality and knowledge are to be commended. If you ever have the opportunity to be in the great state of Texas in the fall, then be sure to beg Antique Rose Emporium for an invitation. This is a rose festival that you don't want to miss!
